Students and tutors alike often fail to take full advantage of the opportunities internal assessments provide to experiment with and develop new skills. Everything ought to be aimed towards the HSC. This much is obvious, but the desire for high marks can lead to an over-prioritisation of safety in years 10-11 that ultimately cripples the students' ability to think on their feet.
